Way back in the day, when we were young, our lives were long, and God was still talking with us, we knew the Earth, we had respect for the other creatures that shared her surface with us. The stars were bright, they held our future, but the smog and lights made them grow dimmer. We forgot infinity, divided days into seconds, and things got a bit crazy. We have religions now, and holy wars, cigarettes, and health insurance. Tax brackets and economic class, slavery and drone attacks. We're civilized, and getting fat, torturing animals pumped with chemicals, we assimilate, we don't create, our words our filled with lies and hate. We think we're free, but we can't speak, we cry when we're happy. Keep your head on friend, I know this world's crazy, but we the bottom 90% can clean this mess that we're in. One thing I'm sure of, my feet are on the ground, and I'm running. I've got a wishing list, and my guitar, a couple fists and a couple scars. I'll make this world a better place for the kids I plan to have one day with my loving wife back in seattle, keeping a family is half the battle, because if you can't love, or keep a promise, you're the problem, you're my target.

Try to find a way out of here. try to ignore the creeping fear of failure. Another day, another song. It keeps me sane, it keeps me strong. It's healing. It brings me closer to God. Are you up there? Are you listening? Cause I am a little scared, and I could use a bit of your wisdom, or just one touch, a word or a vision. Or answer a question, give me a suggestion, teach me a lesson, anything to show me you are more than just a feeling. Though it would not surprise me. With the universe expanding, I'm smaller every day, and I'd be astounded if you loved me. Guess that's the idea of faith. I can't see the music I create. The great musician in the sky singing Om Tat Sat. The leaves have changed again. Wonder if I will see them next year. I have so many friends. When I die, I will remember every last one of them, and every single song we shared.
